Offering a diverse range of degrees, from Aerospace to Veterinary Assistant, the Skagit Valley College (SVC) serves 4,000+ students across the Skagit, Island and San Juan counties in northwestern Washington. 

KBA has commissioned 170,000 square-foot of new construction and renovation projects on the Mount Vernon campus through the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services. It is noteworthy to mention that the Science and Allied Health Building on the SVC campus was the first higher education facility in Washington to be LEED Platinum certified. Other commissioned spaces have included lab and classroom areas, a state-of-the-art distance learning classroom suite, a welcome center and support spaces. 

Systems Commissioned:

  • HVAC systems and controls
  • Phoenix valves
  • Domestic hot water heating, pumping and mixing controls
  • Lighting controls
  • Atrium natural ventilation
  • Rainwater collection 
  • Auto-closing fire doors

Projects Commissioned: 

  • Academic and Student Support Building
    New 70,000 square-foot LEED student services center, housing a welcome center, admissions and registration, financial aid, counseling, veterans and adult basic education services and updated classrooms. 
     
  • Science and Allied Health Building
    New construction of a 57,400 square-foot, LEED Platinum building. 
     
  • Campus Center Building
    42,600 square-foot of occupied space, 4,000 square-foot of which was new construction, with the remainder existing structure renovations.
