Washington State Clean Building Initiative
(HB-1257)
Are you struggling to understand the Washington State Clean Building Initiative? Don’t worry, you are not alone. KBA can help you make the complicated process seamless.
Washington State Congress passed the clean building initiative (HB-1257) in 2019 to reduce energy usage statewide. The bill requires buildings over 50,000 SF to meet specific EUI targets 12 months before compliance dates to provide 1-year utility data to the Department of Commerce. In addition to meeting a specified EUI, building owners must provide an Energy Management Plan and Operations and Maintenance Plan.
We can help you complete all required documentation and conduct energy audits as required to help you and your buildings comply with the mandate.
